Google review QR code generator

Most review QR codes fail for one reason: they point at the business listing instead of the review box, so the customer has to find the stars themselves. This builds the direct write-a-review link from your Place ID, shows the QR code beside it, and gives you sign wording that stays inside Google's review policy.

1. Identify your business

Paste the Place ID from Google's finder, or a long maps.google.com address that contains one.

Open Google's Place ID finder

2. Sign wording

Scan to review us on Google

30 seconds, no app needed

None of these ask for a star rating: Google's policy forbids soliciting positive reviews or filtering who gets asked.

3. Review link and QR code

Write-a-review link

Paste a Place ID to build the direct review link.

Questions

Where do I find my Place ID?
Use Google's Place ID finder: search your business name and address, and the map pin shows an ID starting with ChIJ. Copy the whole string and paste it above. Your Business Profile dashboard also exposes it inside the "Ask for reviews" share link.
Why not just link to my Google listing?
A listing link drops people on your profile, where the review button is below the photos, the hours and the map. Every extra tap loses customers. The write-a-review link opens the star rating and the text box straight away.
Can I ask customers for five stars on the sign?
No. Google's policy bans soliciting positive reviews and review gating — asking only happy customers. Ask for feedback or for a review, without naming a rating. The three wordings offered here are written to stay on the right side of that rule.
Should the review code be static or dynamic?
Static is fine for one location that will not move: the link never changes. Choose dynamic when you print at volume, want scan counts per table or per till, or may switch the destination later to a review-landing page.
Does the short Maps link (maps.app.goo.gl) work?
Not for building the canonical link, because the Place ID is hidden behind a redirect that your browser cannot follow. Open it, copy the long maps.google.com address, or take the ID from the Place ID finder.
