Keyword campaigns without an app

Pre-fill a keyword in the body and every scan arrives with the same text, so you can automate the reply on your side. Because SMS needs no app install and no login, response rates on printed material are often higher than with a landing page.

Set expectations on the sign

Add a short line of text next to the code explaining what happens after the scan, and note that the person's carrier may charge for the message. Clear labelling measurably increases scans on printed material.

No. The messaging app opens with the number and text pre-filled, and the person taps send.
Can I use a short code?
Yes, any number your carrier accepts as an SMS destination works, including short codes.
Can I track SMS QR scans?
Not directly, because the code is static. Count the incoming messages instead, or use a dynamic URL code to a landing page.
