Profile link or campaign link?
Encode the profile URL when the goal is followers, and a specific post or reel when the print piece refers to that content. For campaigns that rotate — a new drop each month, a seasonal reel — use a dynamic code pointing at your current target: the sticker or poster stays in place while the destination moves.
Why not use the Instagram nametag
The nametag is scanned from inside Instagram's own camera, so it fails for anyone who opens the default camera app, and it carries no analytics. A standard QR code with your profile URL is read natively by iOS and Android, opens the app through the deep link when installed, and can be measured and re-pointed when it is dynamic.

- Both platforms open the Instagram app when it is installed, because instagram.com links are registered as app links. Without the app, the scan lands on the web profile.
- Can one QR code point to Instagram and TikTok?
- Not directly, but a dynamic code can point to a link-in-bio page that lists both, and you still get one scan count for the printed piece.
- Can I change which post the code opens?
- Yes with a dynamic code: edit the destination from your dashboard at any time. A static code is fixed to the URL it was created with.
