UTM builder for QR codes

Analytics can't tell a poster from a postcard unless the link says so. Fill in the campaign fields, get a tracked URL with consistent lowercase values, and download the QR code for it without leaving the page.

1. Destination and campaign

Where the scan comes from — the physical surface, not the channel.

How it reached them. Use qr for print so offline traffic is separable.

The campaign or run this print belongs to.

Optional. Distinguishes two placements in the same campaign.

Optional. Normally paid keywords; rarely useful for QR.

2. Tracked URL and QR code

Result

Enter a destination URL to build the tracked link.

Enter the page this QR should open

Questions

Which values should I use for a printed QR code?
Set utm_medium to qr so offline scans are separable from web traffic, utm_source to the physical surface (flyer, poster, packaging, table-tent) and utm_campaign to the specific run. Use utm_content when two placements share a campaign.
Why are my values rewritten?
Most analytics tools are case-sensitive, so Flyer and flyer become two rows in your report. The builder lowercases values and replaces spaces with hyphens to keep the data in one bucket. You can turn normalisation off.
Do UTM tags make the QR code harder to scan?
Longer URLs mean denser codes, which need a larger print size. If the tagged URL is long, use a dynamic QR: the printed code holds a short redirect while the UTM parameters live on the server and stay editable.
