Branded QR code

QR code generator with logo

Put your logo in the middle of a QR code without breaking the scan. QR codes carry error correction, so a centre image is safe as long as it covers no more than roughly 25–30% of the pattern — Qreator checks that for you and warns before you export.

  • Upload a PNG or SVG logo and place it in the centre of the code
  • Brand colours for modules, background, corner eyes and gradients
  • Pre-flight check flags low contrast and logos that cover too much
  • Export vector SVG for print or high-resolution PNG for screens

How much of the code can a logo cover?

QR codes use Reed–Solomon error correction. At the level Qreator exports, roughly 25–30% of the pattern can be obscured and the code still decodes. Keeping the logo centred matters: the three corner finder patterns and the timing lines must stay fully visible, because a scanner uses them to locate and align the grid before it reads any data.

Colour rules that keep a branded code readable

Dark modules on a light background, never the other way round — most camera apps expect that polarity. Keep a contrast ratio of at least 4:1 between module and background, avoid pale yellows and light greys for the modules, and leave the quiet zone (four modules of empty space around the code) in the background colour. If your brand palette is light, use it for the frame and call to action instead of the modules.

Questions, answered

Does adding a logo stop a QR code from working?
No, as long as the logo stays centred and covers no more than about 25–30% of the pattern. Error correction rebuilds the hidden data. Qreator's pre-flight check warns you when a logo is too large or contrast is too low.
Can I add a logo to a free QR code?
Basic colour customisation is available on the free plan. Centre logos, gradients and saved brand presets are part of the paid plans, and any code you create keeps working after export.
Which logo file should I upload?
An SVG or a transparent PNG at 512px or larger. A simple mark with a solid background shape reads better than a detailed logo, because it keeps a clean boundary between the logo and the surrounding modules.
