SVG or PNG?

Use SVG for anything printed: business cards, packaging, posters, vehicle wraps, signage. Use PNG for screens: websites, slides, social posts and email. If a print shop asks for EPS or PDF, an SVG opens in every professional layout tool and exports to those formats in one step.

Print-safe by default

The exported file keeps the quiet zone, so no layout tool crops the margin scanners need. Before sending to print, run the pre-flight check: it flags weak contrast, a code too small for the intended scan distance, and logos covering too much of the pattern.

Questions, answered

Do I need an account for SVG export?
Vector export is part of the paid plans. PNG export is free and unlimited, with no watermark.
Can I recolour the SVG in Illustrator?
Yes, but keep the modules clearly darker than the background. Inverted or low-contrast codes often fail to scan.
Is the SVG resolution independent?
Yes. Vector paths are resolution independent, so the same file prints sharp at any size.
